Molecule Air — Internal Overview

This page is a reference for what’s inside your Molecule Air. For orientation only.

Molecule Air is a dual-socket enterprise workstation:

  • CPUs: 2 × AMD EPYC 9005 Turin, each under its own 360 mm AIO liquid cooler (so two AIOs total)
  • Memory: 24 × DDR5 ECC RDIMM slots (12 per CPU), up to 3.0 TB
  • Graphics: 8 × full-length PCIe GPUs, up to 2-slot wide and 400 W each
  • Storage: 4 × U.2 Gen 4 + 2 × M.2 Gen 3
  • Power supplies: 3 × 2000 W Platinum ATX (all three required)
  • Cooling: 18 × Noctua Industrial 120 mm + 5 × Noctua Cromax 80 mm + the two CPU AIOs
  • BMC / IPMI for out-of-band management

Molecule Air moves serious volumes of air. Dedicated front intakes feed both CPU coolers and the eight-GPU bank; exhaust is through the rear and top. In production deployments, treat Molecule Air as server equipment:

  • Ambient temperature under 25°C at the front intake
  • Clearance at the rear for hot exhaust
  • Monthly dust and filter inspection if you run it hard

For dust removal, see Cleaning your machine — and coordinate with your production workload before powering down for service.
